National Public Radio again fielded a thoughtful, beautifully prepared host, Joe Donahue, to explore with Roger Lipsey the lasting relevance of Dag Hammarskjöld.
Interview with publisher David Crumm
David Crumm is a remarkably skilled and committed journalist in his chosen domain of spirituality and its life in America. He has converted a telephone interview with Roger into a compelling introduction to Hammarskjöld's inner life and values. Don't miss the rest of this weekly magazine.
The United Nations Association of New York was kind enough to invite Roger to speak at its last meeting of the season. Roger spoke that evening from projected photographs of Hammarskjöld to weave together the UN career and the spirituality of Hammarskjöld’s private journal, Markings. There was a marvelous question from the audience at the end: how would Hammarskjöld approach today’s UN? C-Span covered the event.
Roger Lipsey joins the radio journalist Gloria Minnot, public affairs director of WPFW-Pacifica, for a discussion of Dag Hammarskjöld. Ms. Minnot’s informed questions created a fine occasion for thinking further about Hammarskjöld as a diplomat and man of spirit.
